I use a variety of tools and services to make my life easier. I'm always looking for new ways to improve my workflow, so if you have any suggestions or recommendations, please let me know!

Anyways, this should be a pretty comprehensive list of the tools I use often.

OS and Desktop Environment

  • I primarily prefer to use Linux for almost everything, except when I have to play games. For obvious reasons, I use windows when I have to play games. I have a dual-boot setup with windows + Xubuntu.
  • After years of distro-hopping, I have settled with Xubuntu. I am too old to keep up with "I use Arch btw."
  • For DE, I use a mix of XFCE and i3 window manager. I use XFCE when I want to use my mouse, and i3-wm when I'm "wired-in".
  • I use Sweet theme for QT and GTK applications.
  • Although it's not really well maintained, I have backed up my Dotfiles.

Editor + Terminal

  • I commonly use VSCode when I am working on a project, and Neovim when I have to quickly edit a file. I wish I was cool enough to use Emacs.
  • I use Horizon Extended and Quiet Light as my preferred dark/light colorschemes.
  • My font of choice is custom configured Iosevka patched with Nerd Fonts.
  • For my terminal, I mainly use kitty-terminal , but I do use the Windows Terminal or default MacOS terminal mostly when I don't have a choice.
  • On my terminal, I generally use zsh with oh-my-zsh + powerlevel10k shell theme.
  • I also use exa as a ls replacement when I'm on linux.

Desktop Apps

  • I always follow "Develop for chrome, fix for other browsers" principle.
  • Since I work extensively with frontend, there's no escape from Chrome. My primary browser until recently was Firefox DE, now I have moved to Zen Browser. It's basically firefox with more customizability.
  • I use Figma for my design projects, and Excalidraw to work on my ideas.

Desk Setup

  • I like to have my setup portable. I have a ASUS TUF Gaming Laptop, which I use as my daily driver. I also have one 24-inch monitor which I use quite frequently.
  • I also have a MacBook Air because Apple has bullied me into buying one to work on MacOS / iOS / Safari.
